The Central Valley Flood Protection Plan (CVFPP) is a comprehensive framework for system-wide flood management and flood risk reduction in the Sacramento and San Joaquin River Basins prepared by the California Department of Water Resources. The CVFPP is legislatively mandated, and is intended to be a sustainable, integrated flood management plan that describes the existing flood risk in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley and recommends actions to reduce the probability and consequences of flooding. Activities proposed in the plan include improvement, remediation, repair, construction, reconstruction, and operation and maintenance of flood management facilities in the Central Valley. Ascent led the preparation of the Final EIR for the CVFPP. Ascent staff, while working for another firm, managed and served as key individuals in the preparation of the CVFPP and the Draft EIR evaluating the potential environmental effects of the 2012 plan.  The Final EIR was certified and the CVFPP was adopted in June 2012.
