Owner/Client:      California Air Resources Board

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) embarked on a serires of regulatory actions to implement AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act. Ascent has prepared CEQA documentation in support of rule-making for air quality and GHG regulations that are part of ARB’s certified regulatory program. Ascent works with ARB to determine the types of actions that regulated entities may reasonably implement to meet requirements—referred to as compliance responses—and then analyzes the environmental impacts that could potentially result from those actions.

To date, Ascent has assisted ARB in support of the following regulatory programs:

  • Supplement to the AB 32 Scoping Plan Functional Equivalent Document
  • AB 32 Cap-and-Trade and Offsets Quantification Methods Regulation Functional Equivalent Document
  • Advanced Clean Cars Functional Equivalent Document
  • 33-Percent Renewable Electricity Standard Regulation Functional Equivalent Document
  • AB 32 Scoping Plan Update Environmental Analysis
  • California Cap-and-Trade Program Amendments and Mine Methane Capture Offset Protocol Environmental Analysis
  • Low-Carbon Fuel Standard Environmental Analysis
  • Rice Cultivation and U.S. Forest Offset Protocol Environmental Analyses
